Course programme

Course details Integral to our courses is the belief that people improve their professional practice by taking time out to reflect on and reassess what they currently do in the workplace and by sharing their real life experiences with the other like-minded professionals. As a result each course is unique and geared to the experiences of the individuals that are participating, which may result in the course content altering slightly from course to course. This short course will examine topics such as: Analysing the historical context of interactive media development, interactive devices, technologies and future trends for human level interactions Challenging an audience's preconceptions and expectations and/or provoking novel ways of thinking about interaction design Evaluating important social, cultural considerations present in current and emerging technological landscapes Identifying design processes, software solutions and resources for experimentation and exploration Understanding elements and principles of visual design, visual communication and critical play which may lead to the discovery of hidden value Provoking questions which help evaluate human computer interaction. You will: Acquire methodologies and strategies for stimulating novel ways of thinking about existing and future interaction design challenges Gain an understanding of critical design as an approach in design research Recognise the processes of low fidelity prototyping, iterative design and reflective evaluation practice within an interaction design context.
