CSCS HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL TOUCH SCREEN TEST
Legislation such as the CDM Regulations state that skilled construction workers, and those that manage health and safety in construction, must have an understanding of the importance of health and safety.
The Construction Skills Health, Safety & Environment test sets the standard for the industry. Taken by over 500,000 people every year, it ensures that everyone working in construction has a minimum level of health and safety awareness.
The test is in multiple choice format, is conducted via computer and in a 45 minute timeframe – you select the correct answer by either using a mouse or using a touch sensitive computer screen.
You don’t need any special computer skills and you can have a tutorial practice session before sitting your test if you wish. Sessions are monitored, so assistance is always on hand.
Questions are taken from an approved selection covering topics such as site hazards, working at heights, using dangerous substances and understanding warning signs.
Following a successful test, you will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 4 years .
Should you wish, you can proceed to obtain a CSCS card or we can submit an application on your behalf for an additional £40 fee:
1) Once you've passed the Health, Safety & Environment test, you simply need to apply for your CSCS card - you may need to provide evidence of your competence, such as a SVQ or NVQ.
2) There are variety of CSCS cards available. The most common are:
# Green - Basic Operative card # Blue - Skilled worker card # Gold - Supervisor's card # Platinum - Management card # Black - Senior Management card
