As such, the aims of the programme are to: 1. Provide practical specialist training in skills associated with the Performance Industry and enable you to apply these skills to industry standards, using industry level resources 2. Foster the skills of enterprise and entrepreneurship within a Performance environment 3. Develop your communication and creative skills and understand their application in the context of the workplace 4. Enable you to experience business responsibilities and processes in a working environment 5. The underpinning philosophy of entrepreneurship and employability that shaped the direction of this programme when it was first developed is still relevant in the área of Dance and Theatre Arts. Students studying this award have demonstrated their success in responding to changing needs and many have gone straight into related employment directly on completion of the Foundation degree. Continuous engagement with industry practice and practitioners has strengthened this aspect of the Foundation degree, and students enjoy many opportunities to explore and interact with real performance situations that prepare them for working in the sector.
