The Foundation degree in Dance and Theatre Arts has been developed in conjunction with Staffordshire University. This course encourages students to develop the skills required in the professional performing arts industry. The course focuses on performance techniques in Dance, Singing and Acting, as well as a look into the worlds of Theatre History, Marketing and the use of Social Media in professional performance and the key skills required to offer students the opportunity to progress to other HE awards.
Students perform in various genres, including solo vocal performance, full musical theatre productions and Theatre in Education. Students are regularly taught by leading West End professionals, and are given ample opportunity to make connections within the contemporary Musical Theatre world. Lessons also encompass audition technique and guidance on further training at specialist establishments. This course is ideal for students seeking to further their performance ability, whilst also gaining valuable experience in other aspects of the industry.
