Why should I come to Pendleton College?
This course is for those who have a genuine interest in all aspects of dance, enjoy watching and performing dance and want to study the dancer in action. It is intended as a route to dance at Higher Education or to gain employment. What will I study?
Emphasis is placed on the physical practice, choreography and performance of dance supported by physiology, history and context of dance performance. Units studied include:
- Dance Rehearsal
- Dance Performance
- Choreography
- Dance Technique
- Improvisation
- Dance Appreciation
What will I achieve?
On successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to Higher Education and study dance at a higher level or go to professional dance school.
How is the course assessed?
Through assessment and examinations.
What else will I do?
During the course students will have the opportunity to perform their work and participate in productions with other students from the performing arts department. Students will have the opportunity to visit various shows at a number of theatres and evaluate the show with students and staff.
