What is the course about?
This course aims to widen your understanding and experience of dance as an art form through performing dances, choreographing dances and analysing dance works. You will study dance both practically and theoretically. The main areas you will study are; choreography, technique and performance, anatomy and physiology, analysis and contextual studies. You will be taught mainly through classes in the dance studio where you will take part in technique classes and create your own work. In addition, you will have sessions in the classroom analysing works, studying dance from different periods as well as learning about the body in relation to being a dancer.
