Dance Lab

PRESENTATION

Dance Lab will have a strong emphasis on how the dancer creatively develops their own dance while keeping a strong technical reference point.

Each day the dancers will have warm up classes concentrating on technical aspects of dance and then these will be developed by the different masterclass tutors through creative, improvisational and choreographic challenges.

As well as classical ballet the masterclasses will explore contemporary styles of dance through body contact, improvisation, contemporary jazz and hip hop.

Festival Events

Dance Lab participants will have the opportunity to participate in a number of festival events and see different festival performances, including the Welcome Ceremony, Festival Parade, dance shows at Aberdeen Arts Centre, HMT and the Lemon Tree. There will also be special entertainment nights at the festival accommodation, including cabarets by Festival participants, discos and concerts.
