Course programme

Expand and enhance your knowledge in all aspects of decontamination of flexible endoscopes, such as the preparation of the environment and the decontamination processes, packing, storage and traceability. Our distance learning course takes one trimester.

Our online module is aimed at professionals ranging from decontamination technicians to decontamination leads. It aims to educate and inform your evidence-based practice. Study by distance learning and acquire the knowledge and skills you need to decontaminate medical device equipment safely, efficiently and effectively – and to prepare the environment before decontamination.

As well as developing your knowledge of all aspects of decontamination of flexible endoscopes, you’ll explore local and national policies and regulations relating to health and safety aspects of decontamination. We'll look at regulations such as the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and Reporting of Injuries, Disease and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR). This will allow you to make sure that the endoscopes used in your organisation meet infection control requirements and reduce the risk of infection to both patients and staff.
