This 3 day fast-track workshop enables exercise professionals to further their skills and gain confidence in the application of pre and post exercise massage . Participants will learn techniques to work with common conditions presented by clients such as adhesions and muscle tightness as well as painful trigger points.
Qualified Therapists with an accredited qualification in body work, ie, massage therapist, reflexologist, aromatherapist, physiotherapist may also attend this workshop

About this course

• Outcomes:
• Participants will acquire necessary experience to perform a full massage routine incorporating Swedish massage techniques.
• How to observe posture
• Palpation technique
• Understanding of trigger points and how to alleviate them
• Good understanding how trigger points develop
• Knowledge of where trigger points are located on the body
• Palpation techniques for locating trigger points
• Ability to apply tools like elbow and thumbs appropriately
• Skin rolling which seeks to remove restriction in the superficial fascia. It can be used to pin point areas of tension
• Arm and leg pulls Joint pulls connect the fascial web from the top of the head to the tip of the toes. Joint pulls will release any fascial restrictions.
• Cross handed stretches These are performed on the skin each hand pushing in opposite directions. This technique can be used over large and small areas.
• Transverse diaphragm releases This helps to free the 3 transverse planes in the body
• The ability to apply "tools" such as the arm, fist and palm appropriately in order to develop Soft Tissue skills

Pre-requisite: Level 2 qualification or above

Good standard of English and a willingness to learn are essential

Post Graduate Certificate

Taught only by qualified and experienced Therapist/ Tutor

Once enrolled, the student will receive by email the course manual to download and begin reading. 3 days of intensive training, plus case studies complete the course. No formal assessment, the student is graded by continuous assessment throughout
