Duration
2 Days
Gain an understanding of deepwater depositional systems, how they form and how they are identified using different data sets. Identify reservoir quality and the geological controls. Understand the risks and uncertainties in deepwater exploration. Suitable for: Exploration and production geologists and geophysicists, stratigraphers, reservoir engineers and petrophysicists
Reviews
Course programme
The course provides an opportunity to examine analogue data from turbidite reservoirs. The 2 day course will review the depositional setting, sequences that are associated with clastic deepwater systems, review the geological controls on reservoir quality and architecture, and put the environment into context of the petroleum system.
Key learning objectives:
- Gain an understanding of deepwater depositional systems, how they form and how they are identified using different data sets
- Identify reservoir quality and the geological controls
- Understand the risks and uncertainties in deepwater exploration
