Course programme
This course teaches people how to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) in a prompt, safe and effective manner in a cardiac arrest scenario.
You will learn the core elements of Basic Life Support (BLS), including dealing with conscious and unconscious, breathing and non-breathing casualties. You will look at the following: basic anatomy and physiology of the heart and marry that with how the defibrillator works, how to prepare the casualty correctly along with all the key safety points when using a defibrillator in conjunction with basic life support, safe and proper use of the defibrillator along with action to be taken post scenario, along with standard servicing and maintenance.
