The ability to give a concise, creative and convincing presentation is one of the keys to success in many job roles. Having great ideas is only the first step – the second is communicating them to managers, colleagues and potential customers. Join our learning community as we head down the road towards delivering powerful presentations!
This highly practical course covers everything from the effective use of visual aids to seating arrangement. Also addressed are more subtle elements such as body language and questioning skills. Importantly, you will also learn to critically examine your own presentations. Throughout the course you will develop and deliver your own presentations, so you will have the opportunity to immediately put your new knowledge to use!

Week 1: The power of presentations
In the first week, we look at some of the greatest speeches in history to try to uncover and understand the power of presentations. We will also discuss the importance of having a clear presentation objective as a foundation for your planning.
Week 2: Know your audience
Your audience is the reason for your presentation. This week, you will be introduced to a range of techniques to get to know as much about your audience before you stand up and speak to them.
Week 3: Put it together
From engaging openings to logical arguments to a rousing call to action – there are many elements that will contribute to your success. Throughout this week, you will be taken through the process of putting your presentation together.
Week 4: Nail your visuals
We've all experienced it – death by Powerpoint! This week, you will become a master of designing meaningful and effective slides to support your presentation – not detract from it!
Week 5: The big day
This week, you will be introduced to a range of logistical aspects of presenting – from seating arrangements to stress management – as well as some ideas about how body language, voice techniques, and Q&A sessions can all help you to present your ideas as persuasively as possible.
Week 6: Review your performance
It is essential for your ongoing improvement that you consider how you will evaluate your presentation performance in advance, and that you spend some time reflecting on what went well and what you can improve for next time.
Week 7: The finish line!
This week, you will get the chance to share your brilliant presentation and experience the talent of your coursemates!
