This module forms part of the New Dimensions Passport, but can also be taken as a separate course, for those who do not wish to complete the full programme.

Learning outcomes and objectives

  • To consider how to best value and respect a person who lives with dementia.
  • To appreciate what it feels like to live with dementia and the impact that this has.
  • To identify ways to maximise a persons’ independence and to maintain skills.
  • To understand what is meant by meaningful activity and how it supports the person’s identity, dignity and sense of self-worth.

Half day courses usually run from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. / 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
