This module forms part of the New Dimensions Passport, but can also be taken as a separate course, for those who do not wish to complete the full programme.

Learning outcomes and objectives

  • To learn about the components needed for normal communication
  • To appreciate the impact dementia has on communication.
  • To investigate how to support the person with communication difficulties.
  • To consider adjustments to the environment to support communication.
  • To learn one-to-one communication strategies.

Half day courses usually run from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. / 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
