Course programme
The goal of this training programme is to ensure that staff have a basic understanding of how dementia impacts on a person’s abilities and behaviour. It is important that employees understand dementia so that they are able to show trust, respect and recognition to people so that they feel that they have been treated well. The programme will equip trainees with problem solving and communication skills to help maintain people’s dignity and support the people they encounter who are living with dementia. The training will also help staff to better communicate with their line managers or the care team if they suspect that service users may be living with dementia.
