Why Dental Implants
It has been more than 30 years since the introduction of osseointegrated dental implants. However many restorative dentists throughout the country still face the same perceived obstacles when it comes to incorporating implant dentistry into their practices.
The perceptions include:
• Most Restorative Training Courses Are Not Effective
• Conventional Dentistry Is More Comfortable
• The Components Are Intimidating And Confusing
• Consultations Are Not Resulting In Patient Acceptance And The Cost Of Implant Treatment Is Excessive And Less Profitable To The Practice
There are many good courses for learning to place implants or to restore them, so it is not within the scope of this lecture to go into that detail. However we will start from what we think is the most important, trying to give you the answer of why you should include dental implant treatment as part of your treatment offer.
Once covered we will then give you an idea of where to start, what the options are, how to find a good implant team, what type of courses to do and so on. There are many different options that vary from doing your own surgery and restorative to sending the patient to a referring practice.
The objective of this lecture is to show you the different paths that are available for you to offer the best treatment possible to your patients.
