- Study one core unit that is designed to deepen your understanding of law and ethics, and choose from optional units which allow you to focus on patient safety, human factors and organisational development concepts
- Explore the subject with an experienced, interdisciplinary team made up of university and visiting staff, and is likely to include dentists, health and social care professionals and legally trained professionals

This unique postgraduate course is concerned with the practical application of legal and ethical knowledge as well as the fundamental concepts and theories of law and ethics. It provides you the opportunity to examine your own practice in relation to the legal and ethical framework with specific emphasis on enhancing patient care and delivering excellent service.
This course provides you with opportunities to study selected legal and ethical principles which have immediate relevance to dental care and practice. At the Postgraduate Diploma stage you will have a chance to study how the law is made and the links between law, morality and human rights. This is followed by exploring the concepts that shape your understanding of management and leadership for staff and organisational development in the dental practice context.
At the final stage, you move to greater levels of independence, undertaking supervised research project work related to legal and /or ethical issues in dental practice.
