Developmental Psychology Course
About the Level 2 Developmental Psychology Certificate
The aim of developmental psychology is to understand and explain how humans grow and change throughout their lives. Professionals within this field examine developments and patterns in human actions, feelings and behaviour from childhood, right through to old age. This course has been designed as an introduction to the field, aiming to give students grounding in the subject.
First of all, this distance learning course aims to examine how behaviour develops. Then, during the following modules, students will study topics including: personality, social development, identification and early life development. Altogether, the material should take approximately 60 hours to complete, but we suggest that students work at their own pace.
Who should study this course?
This distance learning course has been designed specifically for individuals with little to no knowledge of developmental psychology. The materials form a solid introduction to the field, providing a firm platform for further study.
As this is an entry level course, there are no prerequisites to fulfil before enrolling. All we ask is that students have an interest in learning about developmental psychology theories and have the motivation to engage in home study.
What happens after the course?
On successful completion of this home learning course with Stonebridge College, students will have a foundation of knowledge in developmental psychology. If students want to broaden their understanding, the may choose to embark on further online courses.
If, on finishing this course, a student wanted to become a developmental psychologist, or a psychologist in general, then they would have to obtain a university degree and a masters degree. If they do this, they could find work in one of these roles:
Psychologist
Developmental Psychologist
Child Psychologist
