Design principles, Interactive authoring, ActionScript development,Server-side scripting and integration,Macromedia Flash MX, Macromedia Director

· Web Authoring
XHTML and CSS hand coding - Web design with authoring software - Interactive processes with behaviours and external media - Website management including server-side connections and maintenance s/w - Macromedia Dreamweaver MX

· Visual and Audio Assets
Digital sound recording, sampling and editing, Image production and manipulation, File compression and integration with main productions
s/w, Macromedia Sound Edit, Macromedia Fireworks MX, Adobe Photoshop

· Visual and Contextual Studies
Linear and non-linear storyboard technique, Graphic design concepts, typography, imagery, Contextual design concepts and scalable design

· Common Skills
Essay and report writing, research technique, portfolio construction presentation and argument technique, development cycles, logic and algebra, geometry and trigonometry, hardware, software and networking fundamentals

· Digital Video (option)
Pre-production including planning, storyboards, camera control and technique, Post-production including digitising, editing, effects, integration into main projects, Adobe Premiere

· 3D Computer Animation (option)
concepts of 3D space and 3D software, 3D modelling, Texture mapping Lighting effects, Animating characters, Rendering, Output to multiple format, 3D Studio Max

What can I do after the course? University degree in digital media/multimedia, or similar. The course will assist students in compiling portfolios and other materials and qualifications necessary for applications to universities and schools of art.
Some students particularly those with existing fine arts experience and qualifications, will find the course enables them to seek employment in a growing area of opportunity.
