Course programme
The course aims to give the student a better understanding of the facilities available in digital cameras and associated software, including the opportunity of loading the software provided with the camera and using it. The course also covers photographic composition topics, to enable the student to take better pictures.
In order to achieve the aims the student will both observe and practice the following techniques:
- Digital Camera dials and controls
- Software provided with the camera for loading images onto a computer
- Alternatives for loading images onto a computer (multi-function card reader)
At the start of the course the student records his/her existing skill levels in the tools, facilities and functions of Adobe Photoshop Elements, and these levels are continually monitored during the course.
Students will require an understanding of basic computer terminology and access to a digital camera of some sort.
The student will be encouraged to practice the techniques learned between the classroom sessions at home, either on their own images or those provided on the course, but there is no mandatory ‘homework’.
