Course suitability

This course is for anyone who has bought a digital camera and would like to learn the basics of using the camera, downloading images onto a computer and printing photos. Plus basic image manipulation using photoshop CS3.

Learning about digital cameras and how to use them to their best potential.

Course content

You will learn how to:

Set up a digital camera, including the memory card, check battery status, set date and time etc.

Retrieve and print a photo, portraits.

Transfer images onto a computer, saving and re-sizing images and using delete commands.

Resolution and file sizes.

Macro and zoom settings.

Composition rules, emailling photos.

The course content is subject to variation and/or change dependent upon the abilities of the students enrolled and the tutor teaching the class.

Additionality

Students will need to bring their own cameras and card readers. If you do not own one please borrow a camera that you can use each week.

All course materials will be provided. Optional but useful is a memory stick.

You will need your Student ID card, Learning Agreement and Invoice as these have your unique Student ID number for you to have access to a computer.

No formal assessment.

Your tutor will be able to give advice and guidance during the course on progression opportunities.

Payment options: UK/EU Fee : £100.00 Overseas Fee : £160.00 Part-time enrolments are subject to an additional annual registration fee of £10 payable once only per academic year (exemptions may apply).
