2. Course description This course will provide education and training for those who wish to pursue a career in care. It will provide the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised qualification and allow students to develop a range of skills and techniques personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life. As a student you will study eight units one of which has a direct relationship to the mandatory work placement.

Entry requirements To gain entry to this course you must possess a full and relevant Level 1 qualification including at least English or Maths at Level 1 or four or more GCSEs at Grade D or above including English and Maths. You will also need a good work placement / work experience report and a good school / college reference as well as a character reference. It would be helpful to have a GCSE qualification at Grade D or above in English and Maths. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will study a minimum of 10 units two of these units will be achieved through an external test and the other units by continuous assessment. You will also study English and Maths which will be achieved by an externally set test.
