Course Description
The students will work within the Construction Centre, learning all the trowel skills and underpinning knowledge required to carry out tasks to industrial standards, enabling them to progress within this vocational area and assisting in gaining NVQ L3.

Entry Requirements
GCSE Mathematics (B), English (C), Science (CC). Personal recommendation from teacher however learner must be seen to be on target to progress.

• Carry out safe working practices
• Use information and details to effectively communicate with others and estimate quantities of resources
• Understanding building methods and technology
• Construction of decorative brickwork
• Repair and maintenance of masonry structures
• Interpret drawings and set out complex masonry structures

Assessment: This course is unit-based with candidates completing portfolio work, unit end tests and practical tasks, in order to gain the qualification.

Progression Routes: You can continue your studies onto a higher education course or work-based vocational course if employment is secured.
