Students of all ages and backgrounds study with us each year; whether you are a young person soon to leave school or an adult looking to retrain or enhance your job prospects by gaining new skills, then we have something for you.
This is the first year of a two year programme. Once you have succesfully completed the certificate year and the completion year, you will be qualified to work in the Lifelong Learning sector or schools (ages 14+) and go on to achieve Professional Formation to enable you to gain Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status - equivalent to QTS 14+ in schools. You could progress further onto subject specialist qualifications.
The certificate year concentrates on planning and preparing to teach by designing lesson plans and scheme of work; presentation techniques; micro teaching; teaching theory and assessment practices. The completion year concentrates on higher level teaching practice; designing curriculum; e-learning and developing professional practice.
