Level: This is a Level 3 course.

What is the Diploma in First Line Management course?
This course is suitable for all those who are, or aspire to be, -junior managers. Suitable entry qualifications include Certificate in Team Leading, NVQ in Team Leading or work based experience. If you have previously studied the -Introductory Certificate in Management†course this could be the one for you.

The course will enable you to gain new skills and develop existing knowledge and understanding of a range of general management theories both from the course tutors and your fellow students.

• Introduction to quality management
• Using and controlling resources
• Developing yourself as a supervisor
• Staffing and selection
• Developing people and planning work
• Improving the performance of your team

Teaching and Learning
Lessons will be a mixture of seminars, discussions, group and individual work. You will be encouraged to participate in and contribute to classroom sessions.

Assessment details
There is no formal examination at the end of the course; however, you will be assessed continuously by a series of written assignments that relate very closely to your actual workplace. You will be required to undertake some academic reading and to reference your work accordingly.

This is a Learning & Skills Council (LSC) funded course and you may be exempt from the tuition fee, however you would be required to pay the registration fee at the time of application. Tuition fees for overseas students may vary from those quoted.
