Overview
On this introductory course, you will learn about face painting, applying photographic make-up and body art. In addition you will learn how to colour and dress hair and the importance of good health and safety. Communication and client care will teach you all aspects of effective customer service so that you provide the best service to the general public. On completion of this course, you will have the confidence to apply your knowledge and skills.

Entry Requirements
Minimum of 2 GCSE D grades or above, including English and maths. You must have an interest in the make-up industry and must demonstrate an ability to communicate and follow the professional standards set by the awarding bodies. You must be prepared to study the complete study programme, this includes maths and English and employability, enrichments and tutorials.

Course Duration
One year – Full time.

Course Assessment
As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format. Evidence in the portfolio may take the following forms: Observed work Witness statements Audio-visual media Evidence of prior learning or attainment Multiple Choice question exams Oral questions Assignments Case studies

Progression
Level 2 Diploma's in Manicure, Pedicure and Waxing, Beauty Specialists, Beauty Therapy or Level 3 Diploma's in Massage and Electrotherapy Treatments, Nail Treatments and Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-up.
