You will study both theoretical and practical aspects of hairdressing in a range of different skill areas:Client consultationShampooing, conditioning and specialist treatments for hair and scalpBlow drying and setting hairDressing long hairColouring hair using a range of techniquesCutting hair using basis techniquesYou will also explore other aspects of hairdressing such as salon health and safety, working on reception as well as starting to explore basic hair cutting techniques
Who is this course for?
This intermediate level course offers you the opportunity to extend your hairdressing skills and knowledge and achieve an industry recognised NVQ qualification. Building on the introductory level programmes, the course will provide you with a good understanding of a range of hairdressing treatments and will enable the development of skills which will prepare you for progression onto further study in this area or into employment.
What other experience will I gain?
Working in the commercial salons here at the college, you will gain valuable experience which will help to build confidence when working with clients and prepare you for progression into further studies in this area and / or employment within the hairdressing industry
