Overview
If you are keen to learn the basics of hair and beauty our Entry Level course will give you the confidence to develop a range of skills that will help you with your career aims. The course includes an introduction to the hair and beauty industry, how to present a professional image and shampooing, conditioning and plaiting hair. With support to prepare for work and learning about health and safety, you will be ready for progression onto higher level courses in hair or beauty.

Entry Requirements
You must have an interest in the hair and beauty sector and demonstrate an ability to communicate and follow the professional standards set by the awarding bodies. You must be prepared to study the complete study programme; this includes maths and English and employability, enrichments and tutorials.

Course Duration
One year – Full time.

Course Assessment
You will complete a portfolio to show the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format. Your assessor will provide guidance on how to prepare the portfolio of evidence and how to show practical achievement, and understanding of the knowledge required to successfully complete this qualification. It is this booklet along with the portfolio of evidence that will serve as the prime source of evidence for this qualification.

Progression
Level 1 Hairdressing, Level 1 Beauty Therapy or any Level 1 programme across the college.
