Entry requirementsCompletion of college initial assessment and diagnostic to ensure you are working at an appropriate level in Maths and English and a successful interview with the course team as well as successful completion of the 4 week Motor Vehicle Introduction Programme.
Start dates and fees16 - 18 FREE. You will be expected to provide your own steel toe-capped safety footwear and overalls as well as pens, notebooks etc.

You will complete a portfolio of evidence covering workshop tasks and related on-line exams and Phase tests for each topic you study. You will also be expected to pass an exam for each of the 3 functional skills as well as a PSD (personal, social development) portfolio.
What does the course lead to?You will be able to access the Diploma in Automotive Maintenance and Repair Level 1
What will I study?Health and safety, workshop practice, chassis and frame, engines and related topics.
Study programmesIt is an entry requirement for some courses to have gained GCSEs A*-C in English and maths (see entry requirements). If the entry requirements to a course do not require A*-C in these subjects, and you haven’t already gained GCSEs A*-C in English and maths before joining us, you will continue to study English and maths as part of your programme and take appropriate qualifications in these subjects with the aim of achieving A* to C grade. In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, every student aged under 19 and studying a full-time course at college will take part in our study programmes alongside their main subject qualification.
