Diploma in Management

This is one of a series of progressive management qualifications designed by the Chartered Management Institute. This guide is written primarily for candidates of the qualification. It is focused mainly on the content of the programme and the learning outcomes that will be achieved.
Introduction
This qualification is aimed at middle managers. It represents a step change from the Certificate in Management in that it requires the manager to develop the core management skills of:

  2. • Management resources
  3. • Understanding the impact of the market in meeting customer and quality requirements
  4. • Information management
  5. • Performance management

The optional units enable the candidate to develop greater depth of knowledge in the areas chosen.
The qualification consists of FIVE units which all candidates have to take, and THREE units selected from a further five units. In most cases, the Approved Centre will have selected the optional units it will offer, and so not all optional units will be available in all Centres.
