About this course

This course is broken down into six modules:
1. Anatomy and Physiology
2. Programming and Delivering Personal Training
3. Physical Measurements
4. Nutrition for Physical Activity
5. Award in Instructing Outdoor Fitness
6. Business Skills - via distance learning

This qualification is aimed at fitness instructors who would like to take their career to the next level by becoming a certified Personal Trainer.

You must already hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.

1. Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology

You will learn: The theory at your own pace

2. Level 3 Programming and Delivering Personal Training

You will Learn:
Incorporate different resistance and cardiovascular training methods into an exercise programme
Construct and implement short term,medium and long term exercise programmes (periodisation)
Plan one to one sessions
Apply the principles of nutrition to support client goals as part of an exercise and physical activity programme
Design, manage, and adapt a personal training programme with apparently healthy adults of all ages
Deliver exercise and physical activity as part of a programme for apparently healthy adults of all ages
3. Level 3 Physical Measurements (part of programming personal training)

You will learn:
Analyse and assess clients fitness, blood pressure and body composition
Analyse posture
Assess muscular, strength and endurance, flexibility and aerobic capacity
Pre exercise screening
4. Level 3 Nutrition for Physical Activity

You will Learn:

Eating disorders and prevention
Sports nutrition concepts
Psychology of weight loss
Energy systems/Digestive systems
5. Level 3 Award in Instructing Outdoor Fitness and Level 3 Award in Sports Conditioning

You will learn:
To adapt exercises outside/bootcamp
Plan exercises in limited spaces and use portable equipment
Utilising a range of sport specific training methods
Plan activities for sports/events
6. Level 3 Business Skills – Via Distance Learning
