About this course

You will need to be 18 years old or above, have good listening skills and an interest in caring for others as well as a commitment to a holistic approach to health. Formal qualifications in English i.e GCSE grade A-C or Key Skills Level 2 will be required, IT skills will also be beneficial.

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
You will study a method of bringing about relaxation, balance and healing through the stimulation of particular points on the feet.
This course will provide you with the necessary training and, (through supervision practice), the skills required to achieve safe and effective treatment methods.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
You will be studying the following subjects:

History of Reflexology including Zone Therapy
Study of Structure/Reflexes of Feet
Contra Indicators/Holistic Approach/Reading of the Feet
Instruction in Practical Work including Linking Techniques
Instructions re Case Studies
Client Care/Listening Skills
Anatomy and Physiology
Business Unit/Health & Safety

WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
You will need to have revised your Anatomy and Physiology for internal tests, and your Business / Health & Safety for external tests. You will have to undertake case studies covering a range of 30 treatments, home assignments and 1 class test. You will need a minimum of 80% course attendance due to practical demonstration and assessment. A commitment to both theoretical homework and practical work is essential, approximately 5 hours per week.

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded a Certificate in Reflexology from Vocational Training Charitable Trust of the International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies.
