To enable practitioners, within their particular work role, to work in partnership with children and families to make appropriate safety plans. Suitable for: Any Social care staff working with children & families within Cardiff or the Vale from Police, Probation, Health, Social Services, Education, Commissioned Providers, or any other. agency working within the C&V boundaries.

  • Explain how children may be used by perpetrators of domestic violence as part of their abuse of known women;
  • Identify the knowledge and skills required to undertake a risk assessment and facilitate the coordination of an appropriate holistic safety plan;
  • Recognise factors that impact heavily on the lives of
    women and children, following the end of a relationship with a perpetrator of domestic abuse;
  • Describe the effectiveness of agencies developing an holistic approach to addressing domestic abuse.
