Domestic Plumbing Course

 You will cover the following units:

· Install a fully operational bathroom suite comprising of a bath, basin and w/c, using copper pipe and end feed fittings.
 
· Install a fully operational bathroom suite comprising of a bath, basin and w/c, using speedfit pipe and fittings.
 
· Use compression fittings and flexi hoses within an installations.
 
· Pipe bending.
 
· Washing machine / dishwasher installation.
 
· Fitting outside taps.
 
· Shower options available.
 
· Domestic plumbing systems: Supply and distribution, cold and hot water systems, direct and indirect systems.
 
· Layout and design of domestic drainage systems.
 
· Understand the reasons for the positioning of plumbing hardware in a domestic system.
 
· Understand the construction and operation of domestic taps, domestic toilet cisterns, isolation and float valves, and common   
faults with each.
· Removal and re-fitting radiators / towel radiators.
 
· Draining and filling a system.
 
· Understanding fittings, traps, waste products, etc. and their suitable uses, terminology and jargon used.
 
· Understand the different methods used to price jobs, dealing with customers and overcoming problems that may arise.
 
· Supporting information on business start-up.
 
· Telephone, email and drop in support relating to course contents.
