Who is the course for? Students who have studied GCSE drama and who wish to further their knowledge and understanding of the subject, possibly in preparation for study at a higher level. Due to the practical component of the course, it is strongly advised that students have had some sort of previous performance experience.
What will I Achieve? A level Drama and Theatre Studies
About the course: Drama and Theatre studies can be roughly distinguished as a study of both text and performance, and the course is designed to develop students' interest in (and enjoyment of) theatre & drama through both practical exploration and academic understanding.
The course structure allows students to experience theatre as a well-versed and critical/analytical spectator whilst continually developing their own practice as an informed and technically skilled practitioner.
The course will also develop students' understanding of seminal classical and contemporary plays, whilst firmly placing them within their wider social and cultural context.

Assessment AS Year: 1 practical and 1 written examination. A2 Year: 1 practical and 1 written examination

Cost of the course: FREE to UK/EU under 19s not in employment. For over 19s the cost is £1,194 per year. For applicants from outside the UK and EU the cost is £4,600 per year.
