About the Course
AS Level
* You will study a play that has been set by the exam board, and really explore it in detail. You will do practical work such as exploring the play from the point of view of the actor, the director and the designer.
* Theatre visits are essential but really fun. You will analyse, discuss and produce play reviews after visiting professional theatre.
* You will form your own theatre company and stage part of a scripted play.
A2 Level
* You will study two plays that have been set by the exam board. You will be expected to understand one play as a performance and study the other play from the point of view of a director, a designer or an actor.
* You will form your own theatre company and create your own devised piece of
theatre. You can choose the skill on which you wish to be assessed: acting, directing or various design options.
As a drama student, you will have the opportunity to join our Red Parachute theatre Company, staging plays to a professional standard. And of course, all this will take place at our wonderful new theatre, Hanger Farm Arts Centre.
