Your Course
This course is for complete beginners or those who wish to develop their observational drawing skills, the course takes an in-depth look at basic drawing techniques. Each session will concentrate on a particular aspect of drawing and include discussion and analysis of the work of relevant artists. Students will have the opportunity to explore various drawing media and surfaces.
Learning Outcomes
This course will give you the opportunity to gain:
· Skills and confidence in observational drawing.
· Broader knowledge and development of skills in a variety of drawing media.
· Understanding of drawing as an art form through the study of individual artists.
Your Tuto
Sheila Bryan initially trained as a textile designer at Middlesex Polytechnic, then moved to working as a fine artist. She has exhibited in several major public exhibitions and numerous private exhibitions. Sheila has also been working as a garden designer with a particular interest in perennial and grass plantings.
Materials
Students are asked to bring an A3 Medium Cartridge Pad (not spiral) and a box of mixed natural charcoal, a small putty rubber and a 2B black+ Sanguine Conte Carre Crayon, masking tape, a 4B or 5B pencil to the first session, at which the tutor will provide full details of additional equipment needed for the course. An A3 Drawing Board will be provided.

Tuition fees:£90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.

Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
