Dream Presentations I
Overview
According to MORI, Public Speaking is said to be the UK's number one fear. It even ranks above death, which suggests that if we have to attend a funeral, most of us would rather be in the casket than giving the eulogy!
Many presentation courses focus on content and structure without properly addressing the underlying worries around delivery. ‘Dream Presentations’ helps to alter the mindset so that presenters can be confident in being themselves. The course equips delegates at all levels with the tools and techniques, the beliefs and behaviours that distinguish world- class presenters from the average, taking their presentations to new levels. The course focuses on giving delegates the tools and strategies that create the energy and momentum required to make an audience take action.
Outcomes:
Through the experience of this programme participants will be able to:
• structure and build impactful presentations
• turn fears into empowering emotions
• understand the importance of body language
• use memory skills to allow presentations to flow without notes
• connect with the audience through empathy and multi-sensory techniques and influence through persuasive language and language patterns
• feel relaxed, focused and composed, using physiology and body language for increased personal impact
• use eye contact to connect and involve every member of the audience and sustain interest through stories and metaphors
• deliver sensitive information and deal with awkward questions while retaining rapport
• ensure the audience avoids incorrect assumptions and conclusions.
Business Benefits:
Effective communication is vital to organisations, whether they are attempting to rally personnel behind a change programme or persuade external stakeholders of the value of an organisation’s direction and handling of sensitive issues. Increasing internal communication capability minimises risks associated with inappropriate, ill-timed, misinformed or poorly presented communications. It facilitates the development of stronger business relationships and increased team alignment and motivation.
