Training for Drugs Trainers

This course looks at the nature of adult learning and the training process. Participants will pick up practical tips on drugs training and by the end of the course will be able to plan, deliver and evaluate a short drugs training event. If you are not confident of your drugs knowledge do Drugs Awareness this time and this course next year.

Specific objectives are for participants to

• Understand of the nature and effects of recreational drugs
• Understand of the bio-psycho-social model of drug use
• Know about different learning styles and strategies and how these effect training
• Improve own presentation and group facilitation skills
• Be able to explain how training problems can be prevented or minimised
• Know about different ways to evaluate a training event
