Dry Lining and Metal Stud Partitioning
An intensive course with optional level 2 ASET accreditation
This course covers the relatively new concept of using lightweight metal stud work instead of the more traditional timber stud partitioning. This course is ideal for individuals with a background in the plastering trade, or for the complete novice seeking a change of career, a definite skill for the future.
Working from a plan you will set out, and lay out metal track in readiness to receive the required stud work, you will then be instructed on:
- Transfering the track from ceiling to floor,
- levelling the stud work,
- Leaving space for windows and door openings,
- Changing direction of stud work,
- Forming a ‘splay' as well as corners.
The course also instructs on the correct method of measuring, cutting and fitting plasterboard to the stud work and then taping and jointing the boards to complete the job..
