Introduction The DTLLS is a two year programme of study at NQF Level 4 during the first year and Level 5 during the second year, offered in partnership with the University of Warwick.
This programme of study is intended for those teachers and trainers who have a full teaching role and share responsibilities for development within the sector.
This award includes study on the introductory teaching award, the Certificate in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) during the first term with direct progression onto the Diploma programme. The whole DTLLS programme, therefore, requires part-time study over a period of two years. Attendance is for one evening each week during both years.
On completion of this award candidates will be able to register for Full membership of the Institute for Learning and apply for status as a Qualified Teacher of Learning and Skills (QTLS).

Entry Requirements
During the two years on programme a candidate must have at least 150 hours of teaching practice and will be observed on at least eight separate occasions.
