AIMS OF THE TWO DAY COURSE
With no skill the novice needs to have time to both absorb the theory and then acquire safe handling ability of the dumper truck. Gain confidence in his ability and new found skills. Appreciate the Health and Safety side of his new found working environment on a dumper truck. To achieve this to the ITSSAR standard courses are set as follows.
This course meets the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and other relevant statutory provisions.

DAY 1

Period 1: Introduction: Aims & Objectives
Period 2: HASAWA Related Legislation
Period 3: Operating Safety Rules
Period 4: Major Components Preventative Maintance
Period 5: Operator Pre-shift Checks
Period 6 - 9: Mobility, Stopping, Starting, Use of gears, Use of all controls, Driving and maneuvering on level & gradiented ground

DAY 2

Period 2: Loading and unloading
Period 3 & 4: Loading and unloading
Period 5: Re-fuelling & Parking
Period 6, 7 & 8: Theory & Practical Operating Skills Test
Period 9: Summary& Close

Certification & Testing
At the end of this course the standard ITSSAR practical and theoretical test where possible will be conducted for the Dumper. This is the current recognised and recommended standards practical operators test. Operators are issued with an encapsulated wallet and full sized certificate. Companies are issued with an A4 sized certificate, the trainees original practical and theoretical test marking sheet, course record and written trainee report where appropriate, as proof of training.
