The BA (Hons) (Top- Up) Early Years, Childcare and Education is a course that has been designed for professionals who can work across the Early Years' sector (0-8 years). You could gain entry onto a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (0-8 age range) programme and progress to postgraduate study at both Masters and Doctorate levels.




You'll require:

240 credits from a relevant Foundation Degree programme*;
GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above;
Two satisfactory references;
Successfully complete a written task and a literacy assessment;
Meet with the team for a positive interview
Proof of placement (if relevant).

Level 6 modules include:

Module 1 - Critical perspectives on policy and practice (30 credits); Module 2 - Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (30 credits); Module 3 - Equality and Inclusion (30 credits); Module 4 - Research Project (30 credits).


Course Assessment Method

Assessment methods include essays, portfolios, presentations, reports, observations and activity plans. The BA (Hons) (Top-up) Degree in Early Years, Childcare and Education promotes formative and summative assessment as a means of developing autonomous learners and independent practitioners who have the knowledge and skills to engage in lifelong learning.

To achieve the award of BA Early Years, Childcare and Education you will complete 60 credits at Level 6 from the modules listed above, in addition to 240 credits achieved at Foundation Degree level.

To achieve the award of BA (Hons) Early Years, Childcare and Education you will complete 120 credits at Level 6 from the modules listed above, in addition to 240 credits achieved at Foundation Degree level.
