The Distance Learning Early Years Foundation Stage course demonstrates how children can feel safe in a supportive environment and where they can develop and thrive.
All registered childminders, nurseries, out-of-school clubs, creches and schools with nursery facilities with children up to the age of 5 will have to ensure their staff are trained in the Early Years Foundation Stage and be able to demonstrate that the care they provide is delivered using the framework.

If you are determined to work in the childcare sector as a childminder or nanny, or to help out in a nursery, then the Early Years Foundation Stage is an ideal course for you.

The course has been developed specifically to meet the requirements of the EYFS framework, which builds on the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage (2000), the Birth to Three Matters framework (2002) and elements of the National Standards for Under 8s Daycare and Childminding (2003). Since 2008 it's been compulsory for registered early years settings and providers to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

If you glance at the modules below, you will see what a fantastic course this is and it will provide you with detailed advice and information to help you properly support children's learning and development.

The teaching and assessment of this course integrates the 4 basic themes of EYFS and these are as follows:-
•A unique child
•Positive relationships
•Enabling environments
•Learning and development

These 4 themes, which underpin the principles of EYFS and guide the work of all early years practitioners, form the backbone of the course delivery and are then broken down further into "bite sized chunks" to make study and continued progress as easy and logical as can possibly be.

Students who are undertaking this course for professional development will also need to complete an additional CWDC (Childcare Workforce Development Council) listed qualification (such as an NVQ).
