Early Years Initial Teacher Training (Early Years ITT), BA - 2016/17

This pathway is available for September 2016. This pathway is suitable for Year 3 BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies (single honours) students who intend to pursue a career as an Early Years Teacher. This pathway is delivered from September-July as a replacement year for Year 3 students. On this pathway you will complete three bespoke BA ECS/EY ITT (Level 6) 20 credit modules and three BA ECS (Level 6) 20 credit modules, as well as attendance at placement for some periods of the week. You will also be required to attend block placements between April and July. In addition to this you will attend a number of EY ITT professional study days and a series of Early Years Teacher immersion workshops. Support You will receive support from MA academic tutors and an EY ITT placement link tutor as well as a nominated placement Mentor. Assessment You will be assessed through Formative and Summative assessments against the Teachers’ Standards (Early Years) in each of your placements through: regular observations of your practice and teaching with children (0-5 years) a portfolio of evidence that you will build up over the duration of the programme a record of development will be created to document your assessments Personalised action plans will be reviewed and updated at mid-point and finish of each placement and you will also complete BA module assignments..
