The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Our course is designed for those who are working in the sector wishing to gain a qualification in recognition of their skills and to gain the knowledge to support their skills.

Course programme
How will I study?
The course is delivered using a blended approach, combining taught sessions and assessment in the workplace. A recommended 6 months practice in the workplace is advisable to ensure the level of competence that can be collated as evidence in your final portfolio.
How will I be taught?
You will attend a monthly workshop in college, over 10 months with themed sessions based on the core skills in early years care and education. You must complete practical experience whilst completing the course within all three age ranges: • 0 – 1 year 11 months, • 2 years – 2 years 11 months and • 3 - 5 years.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will take place in the workplace and by completion of module work packs. You will be assessed by an experienced and dedicated Assessor; a portfolio of evidence will be compiled over the period of learning. You will complete two longitudinal studies, relating theory to practice.
