Who is this for?
This course will suit you if you have completed CLAIT OCR level 1 Certificate course or have some knowledge of using a computer.

What Will I Learn?
You will learn the management of files, basic word processing and how to use email and the internet.

Content of the Course
ECDL Essentials is the new level 1 ECDL qualification. It is designed to give you an overview of using a computer and you will gain a level 1 ECDL essentials certificate. You will learn how to manage your files, word processing, how to search the internet and use email, how to use your computer safely and how computers are used in everyday life. The qualification is made up of three units which form part of the European Computer Driving Licence. You will be able to progress to Part 2 ECDL Extra New Syllabus in January if you wish. (Concessions available on this course).

Equipment Needed
An A4 Folder with dividers and paper

Work needed to be Done outside of the Classroom
It is not a requirement of the course that you have a computer at home but it is essential that you practice and read your notes between lessons.

Assessment Details
Assessment takes place within the classroom during lessons.

Progression to ECDL extra.
