Introduction:
Economics is classed as one of the social sciences. Social sciences examine human behaviour and include subjects such as sociology and psychology.

Economics can be described as the study of how society uses its scarce resources. It may be argued there is enough food, water, shelter, warmth and clothing to satisfy the world population, but even the richest people still want more.

Study Mode & Location:
This one year part-time course will last for 3 hours per week. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
You will study:

  • Markets (how they work and why they fail)
  • Managing the economy
  • Industrial economics
  • Economic development
  • The UK in the global economy


Assessment:
This course will be assessed by 100% external examination.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
