Teaching and learning

Our aim is to develop you as independent learners. You will experience lectures, seminars, (computer) workshops and independent project work.

Assessment

Assessment includes essays, seminar presentations, timed assignments, group and individual projects, formal unseen exams, oral exams and field work.

Special Features

Placements

You are encouraged to go on a placement between the second and final year of study.

Placements are an excellent opportunity to apply newly acquired skills to real world problems, and can lead directly to employment opportunities after you graduate.

Careers/further study

As an Economics graduate, you can embark on a wide variety of careers, including managerial posts in both the private and public sectors in fields such as finance, sales, marketing, projects, human resources and production. Many employers state that the flexibility of reasoning of Economics graduates is a very valuable resource for job training and development. Graduates have a good grounding for a career as an economist, or for taking a Master's degree.
