Course review:
The course explores the legal, medical, tactical and medical issues related to the restraining of subjects in handcuffs. Furthermore the condition and mental state of persons prior to, during or post handcuffing are fully explored during the course.
Pi and Restraint Equipment course syllabus:
1. Five-day learning covering:

The law relating to the use of reasonable force and self defence

Organisational policies and procedures

Threat assessment (control versus injury)

Physical intervention and Advanced Restraint techniques

Carriage and application of Handcuffs

Carriage and application of Limb Restraints on non-compliant persons
At the end of the course you will be qualified to train and instruct learners in the application and safe use of Physical Intervention techniques, Handcuffs and Limb Restraints. Techniques learnt during the course are taught in accordance with current police guidelines and have been Home Office approved.
