Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)

An understanding of the role, its responsibilities and boundaries in relation to teaching. An understanding and the ability to demonstrate appropriate teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area. Session planning skills. An understanding of how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners. An understanding of the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping. Suitable for: Those persons working in community-based learning and development programmes, employment and work-based learning as well as those in teaching and training in the FE sector. This qualification is intended as an introduction to the role. As such it would also suit graduates, administrators or anyone who is interested in getting into teaching who has a degree or appropriate vocational experience. It is also relevant for those with specialist or technical skills who have teaching or training as part of their current or future role.
